Awana is an international, evangelical, nonprofit organization with the mission to help churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love, and serve Christ. The motto is the acrostic for Awana- “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” and is based on II Timothy 2:15 (Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth).
Club time for Awana consists of three main sections. Council time is the presentation of God’s Word, with handbook time being the memorization of scripture, and lastly game time. Awards and special points are earned as each youth completes handbooks filled with scripture memorization and lessons from the Bible.
Calvary Baptist Church has been greatly blessed as we have participated in this Christ centered program. It is our heartfelt desire to “reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.” We invite all youth, from preschool through high school, to come and be a part of this special group. Join us on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30-8:00pm, at the Calvary Baptist Life Center. If you have a child that you would like to bring to Awana we ask that you fill out the form on the right. We look forward to seeing you there!
